When I sat down to write Myelin My Shoes, I wasn’t thinking conventionally. I wasn’t trying to fit in with the traditional publishing world. I’m a rapper. I’ve lived life onstage, in the studio, and in the underground. So when it came time to tell my story, I didn’t just write a book, I built a whole experience around it.
And that experience includes a full soundtrack, tied directly to the themes, chapters, and raw emotion in the memoir. These aren’t just songs, they’re moments in my life turned into music.
But I didn’t stop there.
This August, in honor of National Vinyl Record Day (August 12), I’m making history as the first independent author to release a vinyl soundtrack to go with their memoir.
Think about that for a second.
There have been books with companion albums, sure, but nobody has pressed their life story into pages and grooves. This is a 12-inch, real-deal, shrink-wrapped record that gives you a sonic way to experience Myelin My Shoes.
Why Vinyl?
Because it’s timeless.
Just like the pain, the joy, and the resilience that runs through this story. I’ve fought through Multiple Sclerosis, heartbreak, the music industry, and my own demons. A digital stream wouldn’t be enough. This had to be physical. Real. Tangible.
What Makes It Even Wilder?
This whole idea came together organically. The release date wasn’t planned to line up with Vinyl Record Day, it was a wild coincidence I discovered during a conversation while planning the rollout. When I found out, I knew it was meant to be.
This isn’t just a gimmick. It’s a full-circle moment.
I grew up buying vinyl at local music stores. Now my story will live on wax.

I’m proud to say:
I’m the first independent author in history to press a memoir soundtrack on vinyl.
Not bad for a disabled underground rapper with a dream, huh?
Stay strong, stay real,
